Cornwall has a well-known problem after about six o’clock: the beaches close, the attractions shut, and the options narrow to dinner or another walk. Escape rooms are one of the few things that genuinely run into the evening.
We run until 10pm, seven days a week
Not “last entry 6pm”. Games actually start late, all week, all year. That makes an escape room a plan that fits around a full day rather than instead of one — beach in the afternoon, dinner in town, a room at half past eight.
Why an evening slot is often the better one
- Nothing else is competing for the time. An afternoon slot costs you daylight; an evening slot costs you nothing.
- Availability is better. Late slots are the last to go, so if you are booking at short notice, look at the evening first.
- It suits groups who arrived that day. People turning up from all over the country at different times can all make 8pm.
- The town is two minutes away. Penzance’s food is right there when you come out.
Evening with a group
Rooms take 2 to 8 players, and we can run up to 23 across the rooms at once — so a larger party can play simultaneously and compare escape times over dinner afterwards, rather than being split into shifts across an afternoon.

Which room for an evening
- 28 Pasties Later — a full 90 minutes with a playful zombie streak. Nothing ever touches you, and the theme lands well after dark.
- Death By Prescription — a poisoning case to unpick.
- The Lamorna Brown Affair — a Cornish art mystery with no scares whatsoever, if someone in the group would rather not be startled.
- The Holiday Heist — seasonal, November to February, which is exactly when Cornish evenings need the most help.
Practical notes for a late visit
- 44 New Street, Penzance TR18 2LZ — the basement of the Old Telephone Exchange
- Five to ten minutes’ walk up from the train and bus stations
- The harbour car parks on Wharfside are the nearest large option; street parking on New Street is limited and time-restricted
- Arrive 5 minutes before your slot for the briefing
- There are no toilets in the rooms themselves — go before the clock starts
- The rooms are down a flight of stairs and one puzzle asks you to bend low
Winter especially
Out of season, when it is dark by five and the coast path is not an option, an evening escape room stops being a novelty and starts being one of the few things actually open. We run all year.
