Why it works

Gets everyone talking

Nobody stands about

Everyone has something to do from minute one — including the people who only met this morning.

Breaks the ice fast

Half the party often haven’t met before. An hour solving something together sorts that out quicker than any amount of small talk.

Cornish weather proof

Ours is a basement. It genuinely does not care what the sky is doing.

Up to 23 players

Split across the rooms, race head-to-head, then argue about the times all night.

Planning it

Big group? No problem.

More than eight of you? We run the rooms side by side so the whole party plays at once, then compare escape times afterwards. Tell us your numbers and we’ll help you work out the split.

Good to know

Before you book

How many can play?
2 to 8 per room, or up to 23 across our rooms at the same time. Every game is private — it’s only ever your group in there.
What does it cost?
Rooms start at £60. We charge per room rather than per head, so the bigger your party the less each person pays — about £20 each for a full room.
When are you open?
10am to 10pm, seven days a week, at 44 New Street in central Penzance (TR18 2LZ). Late slots suit a stag or hen weekend well.
Are there toilets?
Not in the rooms themselves. The gallery upstairs has toilets when it’s open, and there are several other spots about a minute away on New Street. Go before your slot — the clock doesn’t stop.
How far ahead should we book?
Weekends go first, so give yourself a couple of weeks if you can. Midweek you can often get a slot at short notice.
Planning the day

Where it fits in the weekend

It works best early. Groups arrive at different times from all over the country, half of them have never met, and standing about making conversation is the weakest possible start. An hour locked in a room together fixes the introductions problem before the day properly begins.

We are in the middle of Penzance, so you are minutes from wherever you are heading next, and the late slots mean it fits around a full day of other plans.

Open until 10pm

Seven days a week, so it slots into an afternoon or an evening.

Up to 23 players

Split across the rooms and race, or run back-to-back through the day for larger parties.

Private every time

Only ever your group in the room — never mixed in with strangers.

Photos worth keeping

There is a picture at the end that people actually put in the group chat.

What if the group is a real mix of ages?
That is the normal case. Under-7s play free, and the rooms suit teenagers through to grandparents.
Can we book more than one room?
Yes — that is how most stag and hen groups do it, then argue about the times afterwards.
How far ahead should we book?
Weekends go first. Two to three weeks ahead is sensible for a Saturday; midweek is far more flexible.
Hen dos

An escape room hen do in Cornwall

Hen parties often bring together people meeting for the first time on the day. An hour in one of our rooms gets the whole group working together before the rest of the weekend starts — and there is a photo at the end people actually keep.

The Lamorna Brown Affair is an art-heist caper with no scares at all. 28 Pasties Later has a fun zombie edge and runs a full 90 minutes. Between November and February, The Holiday Heist is our festive caper. Bigger hen parties can split across the rooms at once, up to 23 players.

Stag dos

An escape room stag do in Cornwall

If your stag group wants a contest, split the party across the rooms, run them side by side and settle it on escape times.

For the longest game, 28 Pasties Later gives you 90 minutes of post-apocalyptic Cornish mayhem; Death By Prescription is a tense 1940s surgery mystery. Slots run until 10pm, seven days a week, in central Penzance.

Hen & stag questions

Quick answers

Can we do an escape room for a hen party in Cornwall?
Yes. Hen parties book us as the opening move of the weekend: private games only, up to 23 players across the rooms at once, and slots from 10am to 10pm in central Penzance.
Is an escape room a good stag do idea?
It is one of the few stag activities where everyone plays at once and the weather does not matter. Run the rooms side by side and compare escape times afterwards.
Which room is best for a hen or stag party?
The Lamorna Brown Affair if anyone dislikes scares, 28 Pasties Later for the full 90 minutes with a zombie twist, and The Holiday Heist for a festive party between November and February.
Do you host hen and stag parties all year?
Yes — we are open 10am to 10pm, seven days a week, all year round.

★★★★★
The Lamorna Brown Affair

“We had a great time doing the Lamorna Brown Affair escape room with our friends. Our host Joe was excellent, and we pulled off the heist with 13 seconds to go.”
